(EDIT - TOOK 5 HOURS)
A small portion of one wheel is already showing a bit of silver. I don't know what I did wrong because I scuffed up every inch and cleaned them up carefully. But all in all I LOVE the finished product cause I've wanted to black out these wheels for YEARS AND YEARS. What took me so long? Ahhh, I guess you haven't met my Spirit Animal ... he is now attached.

Yeah, I hear you with silver. I got sick of looking at my silver tundra for 19 years. There's a lot more vibrant, or even pastel colors out there besides that.

And if Ur talking about the 'Magnetic Grey Metallic', that wouldn't a been my 1st choice either. I'm not a 'red guy' but I always liked Toy's 'impulse red'. But i hadda go outta my way to find the 2TR-FE w/5sp manual, 4WD & access cab in 2015 - so the color choice was... not a choice. I found 1 used, and the sale price was about $4G higher than new off the showroom floor. WTF?!?

It was called some sort japanese named silver/grey paint color that had a metallic red speckled in with it before it was cleared.
Had earlier 4x4 red pickups starting with their toyota wolverine back in 1977 that was done in california by a 4wd conversion company that I had to re-engineer, and later a toyota red 86 ifs efi 4x4 pickup. Both of those reds looked great when new, but faded badly after several years. I had a couple toyota 4x4 blue pickups before the tundra also that held up much better. Right now driving a 2020 taliban tan 4wd tacoma. Best thing about it, you can get it filthy dirty, and it still looks the same.
