I modified the blank that was in it. It was just supposed to be a temporary solution until I could get a new switch as the one I had didn’t fit right. I found myself liking it because I could feel where it was at as opposed to having to look for the switch which is behind the steering wheel.
This was a temporary switch when I installed my KC leds but I quickly found that I liked it because it was easy to find in the dark. It is the original KC light inserted into the original blank.
In July, I traded in my 2003 double cab off road in a spur of the moment when I bought my 2017 DC OR. They asked me how much I wanted for it and I told them $7500. They instantly said yes and I instantly regretted not asking for more. It was in decent shape. No dents and garage kept with 200k miles.
I’ve had the same experience as rrt1949. I dealt with the surging, gear searching, and poor gas mileage for about 4K miles. I never had any engine sputtering though. But now, with 9k Miles, my truck runs like champ. I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s all I need.
It really depends on what your goals for that truck is. Are you a mudder, overlander, or just a in town driver?

Congrats on the new truck. I have the same truck, same color, etc. it’s been a great truck. It’s my 2nd consecutive Tacoma. Mines been leveled with 5100s and has round led KCs installed. I’ve always been a huge fan of white Tacoma’s.
The truck will get better fuel mileage the more you drive it...
These are my custom built rifles. The top one is my .308 and the bottom is my 12” SBR. I can’t count how many weapons I have. I’m a Sig guy but I have a few glocks.
I agree with Bogunn. I haven’t noticed any excess noise but then again, my last truck was a 2003 Tacoma with a roof rack so to me, my DC OR is as quiet as a Mercedes.
Jiu jitsu, tactical firearms, mountain biking, running, working out, bow hunting, duck hunting, and coaching Lacrosse. Unfortunately, they’re all expensive hobbies to either get in to, maintain, or both but well worth it.
I have a 2017 Off road DC and have had no problems. I think the issue is the guys that DO have issues are pretty vocal about it because it's relatively rare to have issues with these Tacomas. It's definitely not the majority as a lot of these post make it seem. Don't worry about it. Drive the...
