TRD off-road decal or no decal?

MrP - Thanks so much for your quick and thorough response. Sounds much better than what I was afraid of trying to do- peel! I’ll give that a try.

    What is Toyota thinking?

Its my first Tacoma. ‘16 DC OR. 33K mi. and 2 yrs old this week. No issues but the hood skin unbonding from the ribs. (Easily fixed with silicone glue). No axle wrap or brake issues at all. The initial slip-into-drive from reverse was fixed in early 2016 with an ECU recall/reprogram. The lugging...

How many 3 generation will be still running in 10 yrs?

Almost none here in stinking California. They’ll have to be electric or hybrid

TRD off-road decal or no decal?

What’s the best method for removing the chrome door and tailgate badging? Heat and constant pull pressure from one edge? Thx in advance.

CA DMV Refuses to Re-Register 2016 TRD w/o Emissions Fix

I had the cam sensor recall completed today as well as my CA registration. Told by both dealers the part changed was deep in the motor. 4 to 5 hrs to replace. (would have to be under a valve cover) Looking at those part pics above it almost looks external. I don't have the shop manual so can't...

CA DMV Refuses to Re-Register 2016 TRD w/o Emissions Fix

Just had my registration renewal declined by the CA DMV because of a pending "Emissions" recall on my 2016 V6 TRD. Made an appointment at my dealer and it turns out the Cam Sensor recall is considered an emissions device. Trouble is there are no sensors available anywhere, are on backorder, and...

For You 3rd Genners...Auto Tranny "Control Module"

Shift commands are NOT thru the port. The device is inline with the shifter cable and sends shift commands only when the shifter is in Sport mode. (as if you were shifting by hand). The OBD port is for module power, engine rpm, ground speed, etc.

    Entune Bluetooth iOS 11 Issues

Noticed an Entune software update avail this week every time I start the truck. Anyone loaded it yet? Maybe it's a patch for iOS11? I haven't loaded either update yet

    Hood bounce

$6 fix and no dealer hassle, no paint mismatch to worry about, no fit/alignment issues. Keep your factory fit and painted hood. The dealer paint shop rarely matches the factory paint job. I've seen this thread for over a year and never checked my '16 TRDOR hood after 29K mi. Sure enough, all...

2016 Tacoma 4 door model wind noise

After living with this annoying vibrating reed noise at the top of the front door seals every time I drive into/against a cross wind for 18 mos/25,000 mi. I decided to fix this myself. Toyo has yet to extend their TSB for 2014/15 for the same issue on 2016s. ( sounds like 2107 do the same ). It...

Safety recall received from Toyota today.

It's just a gasket replacement. The leak would have to be horrendous to cause diff damage. Unless it looks like the Exxon Valdez parked in your driveway, no worries. TRDOR with elec locking diff are not affected.

    Tonneau cover

I have the factory OEM and love it. Only a few drops get thru after major rains and driving in stormy weather. Fully removes in minutes. Carry a 12mm ratchet in the cab to remove 1 12mm safety bolt (1 min.) and lift it it off. No big deal. Thought I wanted an aluminum roll up until I saw the...

    Oil Change Intervals

I agree it feels odd after changing at 5K intervals for past 30 yrs. But it's true, with regular duty usage (not towing or Death Valley heat) 10k is standard for synthetics.

    Factory Hard Tri-fold tonneau cover

I like the look of your aftermarket being flush much better than my Toyo factory cover sitting on the bed rails. I'm curious where the rain water goes though. Mine barely leaks. I'll bet it was a few more Benji's.
