    Any 6’ 6” + ‘ers driving Gen 3 Tacoma’s?

@AbsurdBuffalo - I agree. As much as I want one I’m just cramped in there. For some reason my Gen 2 just feels more spacious. One of the big factors for me is how low the top windshield opening is, in relation to how far back I am. I’d have to stop 20 feet before a red light to see the light

    Any 6’ 6” + ‘ers driving Gen 3 Tacoma’s?

I’m actually 6’ 5” but with only a 34” inseam my torso is like that of someone 6’ 6-7”. I have a Gen 2 with no moonroof. Went to sit in a Gen 3 today (also no moonroof). The Gen 3 felt significantly tighter. Also looked like the top of the windshield was lower, making it hard for me to see...

Test Drove a Tundra, will buy another Tacoma

I agree, still have a diesel excursion. I’m my case I spend a lot of time in super tight parking garages. It’s doable in a tundra but certainly a pain.

Test Drove a Tundra, will buy another Tacoma

I posted a few days ago about my once or twice a year hauling needs (pics attached). Test drove a Tundra because I thought a bigger truck would be the solution. It feels 10x bigger than a Tacoma and reminds me of a Hummer H2 interior. Driving big Tacoma in town for 11-1/2 months of the year...

Hauling Advice - 2005 Tacoma with Leaf Spring recall work done

Well I made it back. Here was how I originally had it loaded. I changed the load around after a sketchy 20 Miles. Pics below are the way I originally had it packed. I said, “the heck with the tongue weight & took wood out the back of trailer & put in Tacoma. This completely flattened the...

@4wd - does that mean I should look the rear of the Tacoma as well?

Hauling Advice - 2005 Tacoma with Leaf Spring recall work done

Weight distribution is also a question. Watching this YouTube video would suggest that most of the weight has to be in front. With a 1,500lb. load and 1,500lb. trailer, loading with most of the weight in front will exceed my tongue capacity. I can move some of the wood behind the axles but...

Hauling Advice - 2005 Tacoma with Leaf Spring recall work done

Hi. Out in the woods for the first time since getting rid of the big truck. I have a 5’x12’ trailer (see pic) that we load with dead cedar. The cedar is stacked 20” high & probably weighs 50-75% of what oak weighs. It will total out at 1,500 pounds plus the weight of the trailer itself. I...

Gen 1 Double Cab with Manual Transmission, unicorn?

Here is the comment on my previous post. Maybe @4wd was referring to a 2001 with a double cab only. I can’t find any for sale, even previously with double cab and manual tranny.

Gen 1 Double Cab with Manual Transmission, unicorn?

I asked this question a couple weeks ago but now I’m confused all over again. I have test to see one of these for sale anywhere. In doing some research I found an old comment to a post saying this configuration was not offered and would have beeen a special order.

Are there pre '05 Tacomas in crew cab with manual trans?

4wd - Yessir. I checked CarGurus and Autotrader nationwide and can't find any. Maybe there are better places to look. If Wikipedia is correct it looks like the double cab Gen 1 was only made in 2003 & 2004
