    Just About There

FWIW. Every time you fill your ICE ride you are paying road taxes. The EVs skip that tax and are able to use the roads "Free". The fees being proposed on EVs is to offset the missing road taxes on a gallon of fuel. They should pay their share of road use fees. Several issues are coming...

    2020 sr cold start rattle

@tacojoel. The heavier viscosity I'm referencing is due to temperature changes that impact the viscosity. I would not recommend a heavier oil for an oil change. Only use the viscosity recommended in the Owner's Manual, or conveniently printed on the oil fill cap.

Seeking Advice on Tacoma Upgrades for Off-Roading

Generally, lift kits will create more real problems with suspension and drivetrains than the perceived solutions. Drive it, Use it...... then you'll know if anything is really needed.

    Tacoma rear end whine

Hmmmm.....I think I'd take a look at the U-joints and the fluid levels in the diffs, xfer case, trans. These are simple things and may solve or ease the whine.

    the climate crisis...

It is normal for the poles to move about. Been happening for centuries. Climate change has a load of bad data and bad science to create an artificial fear. This "warming" trend could easily be the normal cycle of the earth. The earth's average temp has increase like 1.5 F over the last...

The weather is cooling. So, at start the engine oil will be a bit heavier viscosity. Just give the engine a moment to pump the oil around. When I get in the truck at 6:15 am, I start the engine, fasten seat belt adjust radio volume. When the little red man who is blowing bubbles on the dash...

    OMG I'm losing parts.

Truck now has a bit over 160,xxx miles. I take good care of it. Least I thought I took good care of it. Today I noticed a part has fallen off. This is so disturbing. 18 years old and the truck is disintegrating around me. Obviously the vehicle is made from the cheapest materials available...

    Wiper Blades

FWIW, wiper blades die due to weather conditions/exposure, scraping dirt and bugs off the windshield. None of the brands last more than a year here in the Mid-West. I typically buy Trico. I steer clear of the "designer" brands with magic claims. I do use Rain-X on the windshield about...

Curious. Why did you need to "rebuild" the rear brakes? This is the area which is most likely where the problem is located.

The BS Thread To Rule Them All!!!

For those who are ignorant about automotive use of plastics. Plastic is lighter weight than the old school materials. Promoting better fuel efficiency, smaller engines, possible for more complex shapes. Plastic is more resistant to parking lot dings and minor fender bangs. Plastic is made to...

What did you do to (or with) your truck today?

Nothing. Absolutely Nothing. The truck slept in the garage today. I did put a couple miles on a single wheel wheelbarrow to move dirt around the property.

    ILA Strike

Yeah.....I really feel for them. Most are making 6 digit salaries (without the decimal points) and they received a wage increase of 62%. The other thing is most of these workers are driving a machine to unload container ships. Not much effort to pull/push a lever and turn a steering...

    ILA Strike

Just hunker down for more inflation and shortages. Ironic thing is a big portion of the workers could be replaced by automated equipment.
