Side steps for a short wife

They bolted to the existing side-step mounting holes. We simply removed the Toyota plastic covers that are protecting the 8mm tapped holes and wrenched in the provided bolts. I anti-siezed all the bolts to protect them from all the dirt/grime/winter chemicals in case I ever have to disassemble...

Side steps for a short wife

Well...my wife and i installed the N-Fab 'Rocker Rails' w/ two removable steps Friday. By the time we got all the tools out we needed, it took about 30 minutes. These rails are well made and i'm glad i got them...especially my wife because she doesn't struggle to get into the truck anymore. And...

Oh they will! Can't wait, I just ordered them today and N-Fab e-mailed back and said they are a very popular item and are currently in the manufacturing process. It will be around 7 days before they ship. After my wife and i install them i will put up pics.

Side steps for a short wife

Well, my wife and I sat down last night and we looked at the N Fab products and decided on the Rocker Rails with two detachable steps. I suppose when we have riders in the back they're just going to have to either be long-legged or just good jumpers. :D Thanks 'mdcmn7' for the heads up on...

Side steps for a short wife

That may be an option for some but I actually have a great wife...she is definitely a keeper. She's never complained and was on board with raising the truck's height...but I see her struggling every time to get in. She normally drives our 2016 Toyota Highlander. But she does hunt, camp and fish...

Side steps for a short wife

well i got my 2012 four door Taco lifted about 3" or so and added 1" taller tires to boot. So now my short wife has a hard time getting in the truck. What are some of the more discreet steps you all use on your trucks? I definitely don't want running boards but maybe something such as a fold up...

Yes, i was told it's much better to have a leaf spring kit installed instead of the add-a-leaf. And you will like the Bilsteins!! Let me know too how it turns out.

It is an 8 leaf spring set from Wheelers Off Road that was around $600. And yes with the Bilstein adjustable front shocks my mechanic kept it at the setting that is a bit lower than the back. This was done so that when I'm towing a load the front end isn't sitting way higher than the back. I got...

Need some classroom time with you all

It turned out great. I have taken it through the woods and hills 3 times since; one of the days in freezing rain and it performed amazingly. The ride is far better than the stock set-up. As a matter of fact I took my nephew out a couple weeks ago and did a little off-roading and he said he...

Thank you for all your great advice. My Bilstein 5100 series (Front & Back) came in today. My Wheeler's leaf spring package should be here in about one week. The Wheeler leaf spring package will put about 1.5" lift on the back instead of the 2 inches it normally lifts on base trucks. The reason...

Thank you for the welcome. and yes, i very much appreciate the time and help i've gotten on this forum already with my first post! Yes, i know what you mean. They were good in snow but the tire wear is very sub standard! I am going to have some Firestone Destination AT put on soon. I have...

Need some classroom time with you all

First, THANK YOU for your patience! My last question is... Can I use new 5100's for back suspension also just to have new shocks all around and forget the AAL. That way my truck will get leveled up properly w/ a little added height?

So use a Toyota OEM leveling kit for front suspension and for the back suspension an 'Add A Leaf' (spring) and keep the current size 265/65R17 tires? I hope I have comprehended you correctly...I had to look up the abbreviations you used so I could understand what you meant.

So if i go with OEM/AAL set-up, do I need to change rims or can I use what I have and go an inch taller on tires with 265/70R17 instead of the 265/65R17 I have on them now?

Brand new member here and I need some of your guidance. I have a 2012 Tacoma 4x4 TRD V6. The tires I have on it after I bought the truck are BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain T/A. The tires size is P265/65R17. So here comes the long question...I want to purchase new tires...but...before I do this I...
