fuel gauge reads full

Ok I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma that has a fuel gauge problem. It reads "full" but is not. I ran out of gas to find that out. So I took it to my guy who works on my truck and he thought that it may be the sending unit,...it wasn't. So he used three fuel pumps to check and it still registered a...
