1996 ticking under dash near heater core

Hello, I've just started hearing a ticking noise under dash. It is intermittent and now louder than it used to be I think, with clutch in and out. Does anyone have any thoughts on what it might be?
and is there an easy way to turn off alarm? Shop want's $120 to dismantle it.

Without a video of the noise and more info it would be really hard to guess what is making a ticking noise.
Is it when the ac/heater fans are on?
Is it only while you're driving or stopped or both? At specific speeds?
does it sound mechanical?
Any modifications to the truck? ie lifted, exhaust etc

Is the alarm factory or aftermarket? What do you mean by turn it off? Are there key fobs? How and when does it go on to need to be turned off?

Tick is intermittent but most of the time

Is it the stupid emissions? It makes a weird noise and makes noise all the time, and you might just not hear it all the time? It's just behind your battery.
 
I can hear this ticking sometimes, it could very well be that black box behind the battry
But I hear other noises sometimes
And no clue where they are coming from :( one noise did finally pop itself right out into the moving radiator fan! It sure stopped then
Gremlins...
