2002 Tacoma 2WD, standard transmission, base model. Issue: airbag / SRS light on dash comes on from time to time.
FYI: had the SRS Airbag Control Module refurbished about a year ago. Note: verified no loose connectors at module. Know rebuild doesn’t mean it didn’t go west again but my problem seems strange.
Getting ODB2 code B1135.
Just for easy reference, per internet search, various B1135 descriptions:
Malfunction of electrical connection check mechanism of airbag sensor assembly connector
“Airbag sensor assembly malfunction
Faulty Airbag Sensor Assembly Center
Airbag Sensor Assembly Center harness is open or shorted
Airbag Sensor Assembly Center circuit poor electrical connection”
When light comes on, read and clear code. Light stays off for a few days. Also, can turn the passenger side airbag off, run a few errands, get home and turn the air bag back on and once again light stays off for a few days. Not sure what the passenger side on / off switch has to do with clearing the code unless it is tied back to the control unit.
Other than a possible “flakey” control module would appreciate any other possible potential problem areas.
Thanks Bob
