2019 Ford Ranger Thoughts?

Like a lot about it, but hate everything about the engine. Hopefully they have other options for the engine
 
I like the looks, I always liked the Ranger but the last one I had was nothing but problems. It was in the shop from the time I got it until I got rid of it.
I like the Tacoma. Toyota has always been pretty consistent on quality except with a few hiccups here and there. I’ll hold what I’ve got.
 
Yeah I think it looks good. just need to know what it’s going to cost. It said it started at 25,000 but if it’s cost to much they will not sell
 
I had a 98 ranger with 4.0 v6 it was a really good truck. I had some clutch issues with it but overall very good. A friend of mine had one that was like an 05-06? I think. It was nothing but problems
 
I don't think the new ranger will hold it's value and be as reliable in 10 years as the 3rd gen taco.. But we shall see...
 
From a fleet viewpoint, we always got the best reliability and performance from GM, followed by Ford and then Dodge. GM medium duty trucks really sucked, and Dodge wouldn’t allow is to do in house warranty, so Ford became a big player. They fell on their sword with the 6.0 and 6.4 diesels, so we now have a lot of Dodge 4500 and 5500s. Why GM decided on a van cab for their Medium duty trucks is beyond me. I think it was market suicide. I have two Toyotas in the fleet I manage now. Both minivans, but all I’ve had to do is change tires , oil, and wiper blades. Same with the GMs, but the Explorers are giving me a fit. Transmission and rear diff issues are prominent.

I've got a 2014 Dodge 4500 cummins that is a company truck. I got it new and now has 220k on it and has done very well. 1 water pump and 1 hub bearing and the rest just basic maintenance. And I drive it like I stole it! I get a new one at 300k [emoji6]

My only new one was a 2003 Edge. I loved the looks of it. The quality wasn’t there. My dad had a 2011 model. Same thing. A complete lemon. Maybe we were just unlucky.

There’s good and bad in all but you have a very good perspective getting to work on company/fleet vehicles.
Hardly no one takes care of or babies a fleet vehicle that they aren’t paying the payments on so it’s a true test of the durability of them to see how they hold up in those conditions.
 
I like the front styling but the rear is meh. Interior looks alright. I think the 2.3 Ecopoop will not be fun to drive in stop and go traffic. The ECU will pull timing when it's hot so there goes your power. I don't expect mileage to be that great like it isn't with the Ecopoop 3.5 in the F150.

I'd never buy another mid size pickup though unless it was strictly an offroad toy.

I rented a Mustang with the Ecoboost 4 cylinder. Had it for a week. Glad I got that out of my system. (The speedo says "Ground Speed". )

Wouldn't buy one.

Not as much fun as the GT350H I rented a few years ago, but fun.
