Asked to sell truck by dealership owner while at parts counter?

I got notices for a few yrs about my local dealership wanting to buy my truck just like everyone else.
But today i went in to get some filters, and a guy standing by the parts counter asked me what i drove. I said "that tacoma right there" and pointed. He asked if i wanted to sell it, and i said theres no way id ever get whats into it back out. He says "oh done a little have you"?.
So i vomited up some parts, only half giving a **** cuz of his smart remark.

I then turned to the parts guy and bullshitted with him and asked for a number of parts... Guy next to me left..... parts guy came back and said "that was the owner".

Ive never heard of an owner trying to make a sale.... i figured they just kickback and let the sharks do the selling.

Just curious how often others have been approached WHILE BUYING PARTS, not being on the sales floor have been asked to sell. Im sure theres got to be some good stories.

And yes, im aware whenever ur doing a test drive or looking on the lot, sharks make offers..... but the parts counter?
