Can I use 245/65R17 winter tires?

Hello Taco lovers,

The factory tires are 265/65R17, and I have a set from my leased Venza that is a couple seasons old. This will save me about $1000 right now. We do get significant snow but these tires never failed me.

Any advice will be appreciated

Are they in there own set of rims? The width is a little narrow for the factory Tacoma sport wheels. They will work but the bead will be weak and your speedo will be off some.

Yeah that’s what I was concerned about, right now they are on the venza rims with 5 star bolts but will need to move it to a taco rim if I am going to use it. I might just sell it and bite the bullet on 265s.

My SR5 came with 245/75-16 tires from the factory.

Factory SR5 wheels were 7" wide.

I replaced them with 2018 Sport wheels, and their only 1/2" wider at 7.5" wide.

I kinda doubt a half inch would make a lot of difference.
