Can you add a tow package to a 2011 Tacoma that did not have it from the factory?

Can you add a tow package to a 2011 Tacoma that did not have it from the factory? What parts are involved with adding a tow package? I called 2 dealerships and I was surprised they thought it was only putting on a trailer hitch.

You can add a tow hitch thats rated for the maximum your truck is rated to tow. It secures to the trucks frame. A 4 cylinder taco doesn't have a whole lot of towing capacity. If the truck is an automatic, its good to have a tranny cooler if towing over 1k lbs. You'll need to have the wiring, and add a 4 pin electrical receptacle for light duty trailer hookup. if a larger trailer, you'll need to wire another receptacle for adding a brake controller.
