Diesel Tacoma

Any news or insights about the diesel Tacoma? I currently own a 09 off road. I drive far for work daily. Gas kills my ****et. If Tacoma won’t release diesel I will switch to ford ranger

Toyota has said before that it will never happen.

In my opinion, there's no benefit when looking for fuel economy when you have to pay a higher purchase cost ($6000 on top of a V6 Colorado), higher price for fuel (in CA), higher maintenance costs and higher repair costs.

Toyota is looking more towards hybrid technology than diesel. I strongly doubt they’ll ever have a diesel available in the US for the Tacoma.

Uh, I use premium and glance at the diesel prices.... Doesn't seem any better.

Then why did they make diesel hilux. Hilux is pretty much Tacoma

Different countries so different infrastructure. Gasoline is also way more expensive in those areas so the majority of vehicles are diesel, not just the Hilux.
