so i've got 282k on the originals nearing 26yrs
wanting to know when or how they might go foul

will it throw a code?
will performance decline be noticeable
misfire?

is there a certain way to test them with diagnostic tool?

I would think if the coil were failing that a misfire code would be generated.

Can you run a scan thru the OBDII port?

i have been looking at a scan tool
my research into this is in its infancy

resistance test with a multimeter to see if the part is within specs?
