Entune... Why does Toyota have three levels of entune?

2014 Tacoma TRD Sport
Just bought my 2014, TRD sport this week and thought I had the full blown entune, but just figured out there is one level up two allow for the entune app to work with my phone. That sucks!
 
Good question; I happen to notice that all of the recent models of cars and trucks for both Toyota & Scion are doing that.
With Scion there are modules that can upgrade the lower grade of Radio.
 
I also just bought a 2014 Taco TRD Off Road (Nov). I didn't pay close enough attention and realized my ENTUNE version didn't have navigation. Hope the Apps feature can be upgraded, not sure if truck has GPS antenna though... It does get live traffic feeds (through HD Radio signal I think???)

If you have an iPhone that's sync'd it will work through that I know
