First time Tacoma buyer

I'm looking for any advice in purchasing a used Tacoma in the '07 to '10 range. I've wanted to get one for a long time and that time has come. For the price I'm willing to pay it seems that it would probably be an '07 to '09 in the 100,000mi range. I will use it in the mountains and off road, purely for play. Might get a sled to chuck in the back too. ( I live near Vancouver, BC, Canada)Prefer the 2 door over 4, and automatic over manual. So veteran Tacoma drivers please indulge me in your Tacoma wisdom!

Just Yourself? Then maybe a two door will do. But it you've got anything or anybody else with you you want the double cab. I like my auto...I'm lazy. Any of those years are comparable. V6 for power.

Take a look at what you are going to be doing, and plan to do will help you decide

I have a few kids so the 4 door was needed. If it's just you then a 2 door or an access cab would probably work

Also look at the different trim lines for the years. They have the base model, sr5, TRD etc. there is tons of specific threads about the differences. I loved my SR5 but the TRD seats are [emoji1303]

For the average driver, the SR5 with 4wd is a great truck and very capable. The TRD versions are great too but do add some cost

Are you going to tow? How heavy is the sled you are talking about

If playing in the mountains is planned the extra power of the V6 might be a benefit as would the 4wd

I'm not sure if 4wd even comes with the 2.7?

I personally prefer the V6 but there is lots of love for both engines
