First time towing our boat with the 2017. Boat is 5700lbs including tongue weight of 570lbs. Did better than I expected, kept it in ECT with trans in S4 and S5. Held speed pretty good (I'm kind of a slow driver though lol!). Went over two small mountain passes and never felt short on power but it does need to rev higher to get into the torque band. Averaged 9.8 mpg for the hilly part and 12.4 mpg on the flatter last part of the 150 mile trip to the lake (pics are in litres/100km).
Everything was going great until we blew a trailer tire! Stupid Goodyear Marathon tires, they self destruct after about eight years of dual axle turning (dragging).
Luckily had tools, Jack, and spare. Back on the road in 30 mins[emoji846]IMG_20180512_1757541.jpegIMG_20180512_1749305.jpegIMG_20180512_1748429.jpegIMG_20180512_1947223.jpeg547867505.jpegIMG_5364.jpeg

I like the set up. Glad it did well. Looks like that blow out ate some fender.

How would towing a 18 Basscat be?

Yeah, that would be ideal if they wore down to the steel belts before just suddenly blowing, they break down internally from getting deformed when doing tight turns, that tire looked great on the outside when I inspected it before leaving
I think you're supposed to replace tires before they wear down to the steel belts.

Just say'n. o_O

3000 tops
If it's a V6 3,000 lbs should be no problem at all. My boat is 5700lbs (weighed on the scales) and I towed it no problem. Definitely feel it's there but I had more than enough power to pull it and braking was good too (surge brakes on trailer). I was more than impressed at how this truck performed, backing down our gravel boat launch was uneventful too!

Thanks appreciate this and your post.

Did I ever tell you guys about the trailer that separated from my truck and chased me down the highway?

So cool.
