We pull the 2.8 V6's out if the old ones, work on them a bit and put them in Sunbeam Alpines. With T5 trans.
First it was the 260 then on the Mk 2 the 289. 534 made with the 289.What's wrong with the 289's they put into the tigers?? (already know, rangers had v6's haha)

With the 2.8 you keep the steering of the Alpine and don't have to alter the firewall. It's better balanced. The Tiger had rack and pinion and was flipped ahead. The Ackerman angles are all fouled up. There are now kits that correct that.
Now that I've knocked the Tiger...I still want one.
4WD-Get out your deep checkbook.
I had the opportunity in '97 to buy an average Tiger for $17k. Oops.
In 2004 a friend of mine sold his Mk1a for the then unheard figure of $43,500 at auction. A year or so later another friend's car went for $70k.
Since Shelby passed Tiger values have climbed. I keep thinking about the time I had the opportunity in '97 to buy that "average" Tiger for $17k.
That or ones we should have bought like series6 said.Wow, my buddy traded a honda 305 & $200 for his (back in 1974 ) It was pretty quick, braking sucked...
I think we all have had a car/truck or 2 we should've kept
My ex father-inlaw had a Citroen maseratti buried in his garage he got in trade for 2 brake jobs & a clutch replacement in a vw (he was a mechanic/machinist), that thing is worth bank now...
I got to drive one in the 80's. Exterior was butt ugly. Interior looked like the Jetson's living room. Geez louise it was fun to drive.
