Frame issue at leaf spring mount

You had the bed mounts rusted off this seems par for first gens. Sucks none the less. Should have got the frame recall.

I'm not sure , I know for a long time Toyota kept extending the recall for frame replacement , even extended the areas of concern in the U.S. because they wanted them off the road (for liability I assume) But it shouldn't be too hard to find out through Toyota corporate..

Sucks. Seems like they wouldn’t want that truck on the road and would still be willing to work with you on either buying it back or fixing it.
 
I'm pretty sure they extended the warrantee again. I remember getting a letter in the mail few months ago saying the frame rust warrantee was extended again. Chances are Toyota should have to replace your frame or truck. If not, contact a layer.

That really sucks man, but don't give up with one denial (or someone saying it's over as of 2012) Because I'm pretty sure what you were told is bullshit because I know there were a few guys on TW that were told basically the same thing but they kept at them & eventually some adjustments were made in the recall & at least 2 of them got frames replaced...

I got a letter in the mail from Toyota yesterday saying to take my 2009 in for a frame inspection..

Yeah it surprised me that some 2nd gens were included in this recall seeing how 1st gens with little to no undercoating started the whole frame rot issue, you'd think Toyota would've made a note of it so it wouldn't be an issue with future production..
