Front view camera

Has anyone installed a front view camera on their truck? With a lift, I want to be able to see the road/track in front etc.

If you have or have any details, please share.

Pics would be awesome.

Thx.

What you're looking for is called a multiplexer, and they're about $50:
Toughsty[emoji769] 4Ch Mini Color Video Quad Splitter Multiplexer Processor Switcher for CCTV Security Camera https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WW8N5SW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Y5XCBbJV4EXW8

The camera itself had multiple views. This would be more for multiple cameras.

Suggestions?

Alpine had a multi view camera with it's own control box so that output was just video. Seems like you have to buy that separately now.

Thanks guys. Very helpful. I looked on YouTube and there was a guy from Trdmod.com that had a good tutorial overview. Went to the site though and the camera was not on it. Regardless good intel there. Thx again.

JJ (TRDmod.com) hasn't been making them for about 2 months now. Supposedly he was threatened by a law suit by another Tacomaworld member saying he stole his intellectual property the other guy has a design on Tacomaworld and JJ made a better one that more people liked and was purchasing. We hope he comes back online and sells again. He had a great product.

I asked my local headunit guy, and he said you have to switch out the OEM headunit. As much as I would like a front camera, I'm not changing a unit that works just fine for me.

I got lucky I purchased mine a little before that. Mine works great, what was your question Op?

If you just read the tutorial I posted you'll see that it's very easy to add a front facing camera to pretty much any head unit that already has a rear camera.

Thanks for the info. The problem for me is that when you show a wiring diagram, I see spaghetti. And I'm not willing to ask somebody else to do something for a fee that they never did before.
I think you need to decide if you want to learn enough to confidently do this project or hire someone else to do it.

I think you need to decide

True.

I have a model railroad set up. I can do everything with confidence except the electronics of it.

Until somebody posts a video with easy step by step instructions and great pictures, I will look for that gifted person who can open up the dash and make the right connections.

Stay well,

Fair enough. It is a great feeling to learn it and do it yourself. Don't sell yourself short! Good luck on it either way!

When I first started with model RRing it was crazy. I was so worried about screwing things up (and I love wiring stuff). Now it's a piece of cake.
