So I'm looking to but my first vehicle. I'm finally getting my license at age 44 ( no snickering ! I've lived in areas where it made no sense to have a car let alone a license -- until I moved to Los Angeles and began traveling for work).

My BIL has a F-150 and as much as it's an impressive vehicle, it feels too large. I was recently in a 2011 Crew cab Tacoma (V6 Prerunner) and liked the feel of it. At 5'1" this truck feels more my size.

Anyways I'm babbling somewhat. What I'm curious about is how others find the 2014 ride (I'll be doing some test drives next month when my schedule calms down for a bit). Everything I've read has said that the brakes are "touchy" and the ride in the road is "rough". I suspect that this may be more of a personal view than reality.

I'm also curious if the Limited package is worth it. I'm going to buy the truck out right and want to minimize whatever I need to add after. The 4x4 is definitely on the list since it's cry likely that my wife and I will return back to my home of Canada (any Canadians on the board that can comment on driving in snow, slush, etc in places like Toronto or Halifax).

I'm also contemplating waiting to see how the 2015 will really look. I've read some of the stuff that came out of the Detroit auto show but, like we say in IT, nothing is set until GA.

So. That's my story.

Well nice to meet you, i just recently became a toyota owner myself, and i feel the ride is a little stiff, but mine also only has 1800 miles on ir and its the first one i have ever owned. I bought the 4door V6 auto base model. It had power windows, doors and mirrors. It did not have cruise, painted flares and bumper, or keyless entry. I spent $200 and put cruise control and intermittent wipers on it, and basically have the same exact truck, and saved almost $5000 doing so.

I have owned a few Tacoma's. Like you said everyone has personal dislikes and likes just like they would a 55" TV Vs a. 56" TV. I'm 5.9 and it fits me perfect. Yes the brakes are a little touchy at first but after a few short trips you won't notice it. I recently purchased myself a 2014 limited 4x4 after leaving a 2006 tacoma sport I'm very happy with it but I already have a $4-5k mod list I'm working on and I wanted luxury package. it rides smoother than my sport. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. ImageUploadedByTaco Forum1403451898.165269.jpg
