This morning the tacoma took the boat 15 miles to the marina, 10 000 lbs of boat and about 1500 lbs of trailer. 3 axle one set of brake. It went very well and towed beyond the expectations. Barely any weight on the tong. 2018 tacoma, 6 cyl, happy about the truck, i know max towing is supposed to be 6400# but i had to tryIMG_1527301442.016568.jpg

6400 is just a suggested stopping point for their liability purposes.
I would have loved to see video of it in action.

Great to hear the Tacoma is a work horse. Pssssst. Don't look now, but that boat won't fit through the garage door.

Yesterday we helped some friends pick up decorative stone in Wichita then take it to Tulsa. 5,100 lbs. of stone, plus trailer, plus 4 adults. Then they added four large clay pots, plants, and bags of dirt. I did what everyone has suggested and drove in S4. We cruised easily at 70 mph at just over 3,000 rpm on the turnpike but didn’t push too hard for some of the hills. I was impressed.

I got a really good steak last night in Tulsa. IMG_0927.jpg

They bought 300 stones weighing 17 lbs each. The pallet (240 stones) would not fit in the bed. I like the trailer. Those stones are rough.

What kind of mileage did you get hauling that load?

11.5 mpg. No wind in Kansas or Oklahoma. That’s rare. 13.7 mpg with the trailer empty going from Oklahoma City to Wichita in S4. I wish I knew how much that trailer weighed. It felt heavy. The load was placed properly so the truck didn’t squat more than two inches.

Thanks. All in all not too bad.
