I have a 97 Tacoma with the 2.7l I can roll start it but I can't start it with the key it will just turn over until the batterie dies I put a new fuel filter on it new plugs n wires I don't know what is wrong some help would be nice thanks

Check your distributor cap & rotor.

Ok I will when I get off work. after it roll starts it Idles kinda ruff and seems like it wants to die

What did you gap the plugs at?
Should be 0.031

Did you crack a plug? Putting them in?

Plugs are good the first two wires go,to a box and the second two go to a box right next to it I checked all the connections and there good

Something else you might want to check for is a vacuum hose that may have popped off when you were changing the plugs. My '82 had a 22R in it and I would do just that and it ran really bad, that is until I put the hose back where it belonged.

Also, check your choke it could be stuck.
