Are hids illegel to run in stock head lights?

Did your truck come with an option to run HID from the factory?
If not, then yes its illegal on a federal level to throw hids into your headlights.

Ill give u a hint..... 2005-2015 tacomas never came with a factory hid option.

Federal means entire united states.

And all that crap printed on a box means nothing. "Street legal, dot approved"... maybe that bulb in a different vehicle is g2g, but not in our trucks.

You would blind the **** out of oncoming traffic and drivers ur following.

If a cop felt like an easy ticket, yeah u would get pulled over.

Its hard to miss when ur being blinded.

Whats even more important is you can be held liable for an accident if you blinded someone due to illegal lighting on the road. I dont know how chargers would look if there was a death.

Dont be one of those people....

Oem lighting and bulbs are sufficient.... if u cant see at night, you need your eyes checked, new bulbs, a new windshield, or new headlamps.

Then ur pupils dilate from the intense light in front of your truck and you lose "scanning" ability.

Hold a flashlight near your periphery..... notice u cant see far ahead despite the light only being in periphery?

You know the proper way to drive at night is to lower the available nearfield light so you can see further out right?

Foglights can hinder your distance viewing when theres no fog... ur eye will be drawn to the hotspot right in front of you.

I’m sure it won’t be the last time. @kp.taco used it once on a thread not to long ago. I used it a year ago when someone put 5 light bars on their taco.
