If you owned the new 2016 Tacoma what mods would you install to make it your own?

Oh boy. I'm going to side with you on your other post. I'd have to see it in person to see what has been done up close. The grille and wheels would be the first things to change.

I really dont like the nose of the thing ... looks like a Dodge with the big ass grill opening between the lowered headlights

It is not that different. Compared with how different a first generation and a second gen Tacos are, this does not really seems like a "third generation" to me...
 
Looks better than my 14'. Maybe the tailgate is stronger. The POS gate on mine sucks. Also hope they come with a Compass and Outside Thermometer....that would be a step forward, and while they're at it how about headlights that turn on by themselves that would be an improvement too.
I didn't read too deeply but is the V-6's HP improved and better fuel economy?
Time to get back on a level playing field.

There is still some uncertainty on the engine specifications...yes, it will be a 3.5 with anywhere from 280HP and 300ft/lbs. of torque to 315HP with over 300ft/lbs. of torque. I believe Toyota is still fiddling with the tune to get the best combination of HP, Torque and MPG. Maybe they are waiting to release this information after Nissan announces their powertrain specifications on the new Frontier. Either way, the gearing of the truck will be most important since this is a smaller displacement engine. I do know the redline on the tach reads 6000rpm.

If I owned a 2016, the first thing I would do is add an aftermarket grill and some TRD rims. Then, I would probably change out those hideous tail lights!

My question for the 4WD models; is how will a skid plate fit with that lower valence hanging-off the front end!?
 
I wish they would just go back to the 1996 styling. Round headlights etc. Everything looks too damned square!
