Recently got my 2013 four cylinder Tacoma.
First thing that surprised me is that it has much more torque at lower rpms than cars that I previously owned.
I'm so used to cars having to wind up to 3,500 rpm off of the line. I at first thought that I wasn't accelerating much at 1,500 rpm. But I was. Just didn't sound like it.
Back in the day, I owned an 8 cylinder camaro that got 29 miles per gallon on the highway. But it only needed 700 rpm at 60 mph. Having torque is sweet.
My truck idles probably close to 700 or 800 rpm in neutral?
