New Tacoma owner

Welcome to this forum. I still can't believe anyone would even pay msrp, but till enough aren't will to do so, dealers are going to charge what they know they can get. I guess the days are gone when i bought my 2020 for $3500 under msrp.
 
Use anything that suits your budget.

Same for the tailgate. These come off in about 2.5 seconds.

The object is to make your truck a harder target. In other words, make the neighbor's truck an easier target

Remember, thieves want fast, easy, quiet targets.

I take it crime is up in ny. Some of it has been spilling over near me in connecticut.
At any rate i'd be thinking about rust protection, winter isn't far away.
