Finally got the truck tonight. All I've done so far is hose the undercarriage down with wd-40. A good cleaning is coming tomorrow, along with more pics!
A full body off frame restoration, 3in lift, 33s and custom front and rear bumpers. I'm guna paint the whole truck olive drab (army green). Rebuild the engine, Bored 10 over. I'm really just hoping to build a nice, badass trail truck
The frame actually isn't that great. So far I found at least 3 spots to be fixed. The guy that had the truck before me just really didn't take care of it. Ill get pictures of all the spots as soon as I sand blast the frame
I hope to have the truck driving with everything put together and working by early January. Then go into paint. I'm in high school and hopefully will be getting a job so ill have more money to put into it. So I don't have tons of time but its come a long way in a couple weeks.
Work has been slow this week cause I've been sick but I finally got the rear axle off and the old rear crossmember (being replaced with 3x4 square metal tube) and started cutting out the rotted frame.
Finally got the front axle off! Big turning point in the build, it's gone from tearing stuff apart to making it like new again. and here's the old 20r just begging to be rebuilt
Sorry there haven't been any updates lately, I've just been prepping for sand blasting. Alot of grinding and cleaning. Sandblasting man should be here Monday them I can get the frame primed and all the patches welded in. Ill get some picture up tomorrow of all the rotted spots cut out!
Most of the rotted frame has been cut out. There's still some places that I need to look at.
Here's the haul from the scrap yard today. I got all the metal for repairing the frame and floor boards, make a new bumper (big white pipe) and some pipe to make a prerunner style bumper for my taco and all for free!
