Pedal commander

Just curious about the use of these by people. Do some of you drag race your Tacos, and that is why you need this. I test drove a new one yesterday stock off the dealership lot, it didn't have any significant throttle lag.

If I’m not mistaken, doesn’t the pedal commander simply remap the throttle? I’m thinking that it changes the curve to provide the feeling of more power by giving more throttle with the same pedal pressure. If that’s the case, I’ll pass. I’m not trying to knock the product and if the pedal feel is important to someone than it may be money well spent. But, I still remember how to mash the throttle when needed and go light when appropriate without having to press a button first.

Pretty much does just that but It's a little more intuitive though. I used to think it was a waste until I got it for my 2019 4Runner which has grandpa throttle. Seems like the signal amplification is on a curve. So it's aggressive at first but tapers off when you get into higher foot inputs. The higher settings do essentially open the throttle to its maximum when you're at half throttle.

I would rather have a slow and progressive throttle. Less jerky when doing something that requires a slow maneuver. The first quarter of the throttle is the most important for me. If I am going to be going past quarter throttle, I am probably just pulling out onto a hwy or climbing a hill, when it doesn't really matter much. Its the offroad crawling, boat launch, backing up to hook onto a trailer, parking lot stuff that matters most, and slow reaction is what I want.
