Prerunners.....

I’m totally not trying to sound snobby but why get a prerunner... trucks are suppose to be taken off road and to me that means locking it in 4x4 and just going and forgetting about the world.

Years ago I was looking at an Allroad and the sales guy kept trying to sale me a civic on his lot. When I said no I want an AWD vehicle he said “well the civic has traction control which is just like AWD” I looked at him o_O and left.

Socal, no snow..... **** the sand cleanup, **** mud cleanup, dont need the extra weight, dont need the extra maint, dont need the extra bearing issues.... atleast thats my personal reasons. Ive been "stuck" 1 time where i needed help, and i wished i had 4wd 1 other time when my buddy was stuck somewhere and called me for help.
About 2min of random driving around my neighborhood i found a big ass xj with muds and a winch. Knocked on door, explained things, we went out and got my friend unstuck.

Its all about your needs/usage. I dont need 4wd personally.

Not to sound snobby, but i get 20mpg and push 350hp.

There's a lot of reasons , & they're as varied as the number of people that buy them, for some the extra $$$ it takes to get into a 4x is just out of reach, another reason could be some don't ever plan to take them where 4x is needed, most will never see any real dirt (like most other trucks) that said , in the hands of someone with a few skills , a prerunner can get into a lot of the same places 4x's go, I used to lead up to 12 + rigs on trail runs & I was blown away by a couple of trucks in the back that up to this point I thought they were 4x, granted , the trails weren't SBD rated but way more than any conventional 2wd. could handle In the deserts where I'm at, they just kick serious ass... You can forget about your world in a lot of ways...

Sorry I guess I should have thought about different terrain. Being in the pacific NW My friends and I tend to find places way out of the way that you tend to use 4x. I’m also a big snow guy and am up on the slopes as much as possible.
