2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

It rained all day here. So I’ve not went outside and tried
I was told by my service advisor it’s got to be hooked up to their reader to change the setting in the ECU. I’ve read some dealers will charge up to $50 to do this for you. I’m sure if you take it in for the next service and ask really nice they’ll do it for free.Doesn’t work on a third gen. I’ll probably have to get the dealership to do it
Do you not have a seat belt law in your state? No offense but the seat belt is there for a reason, YOUR SAFETY and your passengers also.
Yeah. But at low speeds, off-road and the like, frequent stops at low speed it’s annoying
Same here. It locks up at the perfectly wrong moments sometimes in the woods when I'm trying to lean up to see where I'm going or I try to reach across the steering wheel with my left arm and it locks up.... that's why I had mine turned off... I still wear it if I'm going farther than the gas station tho... and I always make my passengers wear their seatbelts off or on road.Yeah.
