Very touching moment and such a great start with your new family to be.I'll kick us off.
Future mother in law just dropped by unexpectedly this morning.
She brought Starbucks coffee and cookies.
We chatted a while.
She asked me about teaching her how to use tools and work on her car. Tomorrow she is coming back with the list of things I sent her shopping for to buy. She asked me what I was up to next today and I said well taking my puppy for a walk...well i wheelchair now...she asked to come along, we had a nice time. Before she left she hugged me and called me son...not to proud to admit I teared up.
I think it is cool that at age 55 she wants to learn car maintenance.
I like that story! What a special mom-in-law! I hope you still have your collections.Great story. Thanks for sharing. Good to know your future seems bright.
I knew I was set with my mother-in-law when she started buying me puter Star Trek figurines for Christmas and my birthday. I was a big-time collector back in the day...
Everything is coming together nicely MartinB asked last night how I would feel about her quitting the waitressing job. I told her absolutely thrilled and happy as can be. She is loving her new job as a lifeguard/aquafit instructor, and will be keeping her job as a martial arts instructor. She even has medical and dental with her lifeguard job, gets paid for statutory holidays, paid vacation time yearly, can take a sick day if needed and yes be paid for it...not to mention it pays well to begin with instead of crappy pay. But with giving up her own place, to move in with me, that saves her $1400/month to. She was hardly ever there anyway, as she spent more time at my house the last few years than she did at her place.
Her mom and dad are here now working on the mother's Sorento.
B left for work about 9:30 am, her parents got here around 9:35. I asked them if they were avoiding her lol.
Just joking of course, they are amazing parents who love their children very much!
I have taught B a lot about vehicles and their maintenance the last few years, but her parents don't know crap about it. Nice to see them getting their hands dirty, and learning. She got everything on the list of parts I gave her, and more. It is actually fun teaching people stuff, and Rupert likes that every time she shows up at our house, she has a treat. Today her puppy treat was a blueberry muffin, and sausage with egg, on a bagel breakfast sandwich.
