Steering Stiff Spots

Hey Guys,
Having an issue with my steering and I was wondering if any of you have had the same issue;
When I turn the wheel it goes from Stiff to Normal back to Stiff and then to Normal again throughout the rotation of the wheel. I have heard that this could be due to the U joint on the lower steering column. I have read on other forums that lubing it up can eliminate this. My power steering pump is not making any alarming noises such a whining when the wheel is turned.

Anyone ever run into this issue before?

No, but... I’d check all fluids, if they are low that’s usually because of a leak somewhere. You can try the lubing of the U joints see if that help if not come back and let us know.

I had this issue on a silverado. It was the u- joint

Sounds like the U-Joints to me.

It was definitely the U-Joint. I used some SeaFoam Deep Creep and it feels much better. Not binding anymore. I will expect to have to replace this in the next couple years or so.
