Traction control and check engine light??

I had my sparkplugs replaced about 5000 miles ago and cold weather just started here in NE Pennsylvania. On my way to work, both my traction control light and check engine light came on??? Anyone have this same problem??

Forget to mention.... my truck is a 2017 Tacoma SR5 3.5l V-6 with 70000 miles

Did you stop and get gas. I've seen this happen with a loose gas cap. I would just reset the codes and see if it happens again.

My check engine light came on once. Took it to the dealership and they ran all the tests and couldn't find anything.

Said it had to be the gas cap, even thou I had already used half the tank from the last fill up.

Aint came on since, so I guess they were right.

I think it was my traction control light that came on a coupe times while driving thru monsoons.

Another vote for gas cap. My wife has this issue constantly in her 4Runner.

Read the code. A traction light is normal with a CEL.

Took it to the dealer and they could not find the problem. I did add gas the day before. So. I am thinking poor gas or gas cap. Seems to be running fine and has not had the CEL come back on.

One other item that can make your MPG better and ensure your Taco is running at top condition. The applies to all modern-day autos and trucks. When you fill your gas tank and it clicks off. Stop and don't add another drop of fuel. If you get much in it will return raw gas not the vapors back through the line going back to the engine. There is a filter on that line and if it gets raw gas in it your mpg will suffer and drop. So, on first click stop and save your mpg . Your engine will run happy.

Check engine light and traction control came on again.... drove it Sunday and it went off??? Local Toyota dealer did not find any codes (2nd time)?? I'm guessing it could be gas/gas cap?

Hello, hopefully I can get some help from y'all!
The same thing happened to me today but I also have a previous issue where the truck would shake when I would start to accelerate after waiting at a stop light.(Low speeds)

Any feedback is appreciated.
