I think it’s pretty well the same filter/screen design that they’ve used for years.

Just from poking around online a bit, I've found that its a screen. Price ranges from about 20 to 80 dollars.

I replaced my transmission filter in my 2013 Tacoma at 101 thousand miles. It had a filter in the tranny pan. Alot of black **** in there. Super easy to do if you take your time. All the fluid and filter costs me about 70 bucks
