TRD cold air intake

Does anyone have one? I might get it since it's the only cold air intake that'll pass smog in California. Do they improve performance or are they a complete waste of money.

Personally, I think they are a waste. Think about it, stock is already a closed system and is sucking air in forum outside the engine compartment. So, it's a cold air intake already. Grab an AFE filter for it instead. Just my 2 cents.

Most people I know get them for better engine sound, usually no difference in performance at all.

K&N designed the newest "TRD" intake and it is flawed...........IIRC it causes lean conditions because the intake was based around the wrong diameter MAF tube.

Go with the AFE stage 2 SI, keep ur stock setup and switch every 2 yrs for smog.
