Unexpected breakdown on the way to Atlanta

Hey folks, just wanted to share a little story from last weekend.

Was driving to Atlanta with a buddy of mine (he’s a long-haul trucker) to visit my parents. Somewhere outside of Birmingham, my Tacoma started acting up — sounded like the alternator gave out. We pulled over, popped the hood, but it was clear it wasn't something we could fix roadside.

My buddy mentioned he uses this app called Trucker Guide — mostly for his route planning and stops — but it turns out they’ve got a feature to find roadside service providers near your location. What’s cool is you can even filter for ones that work 24/7.

We found a mobile mechanic shop just 15 minutes away that was still open. The guy showed up in under 30 minutes, had the right tools, and got us back on the road before midnight. Honestly saved the whole trip.

Just thought I’d share in case anyone ends up stuck like we were — it’s a solid backup plan even if you’re not driving a rig.

What year tacoma, and how many miles?
Reminds me of a deal years ago when helping out as a roadie for my brothers rock band, and our 1 ton chevy van blew a tire with no spare. Lucky he had triple A. Within an hour they supplied a tire, and even changed it.
