Upgrading 2nd gen to 3rd wheels

New to the Tacoma world with my stock 2010. I picked up some 3rd gen wheels and tires from a buddy and I’m looking to put them on my truck. I’ve heard I need to get different lugs to make it work, anything else I need to watch out for?

Congrats on the new to you Tacoma. Make sure you torque it to 85lbs and re torque after a 100 miles or so.

Welcome to the forum. That’s a clean looking 2010. The gen three rims will look great.

Well they may have had the issue on 3rd gens due the honda ish tq curve..... so op should be ok right?

I’d agree that the Toyo’s that come from the factory refused to go up a couple wet hills,... but I’m fixing that soon. [emoji16]

Man, you ain’t kidding. These factory Toyo tires are terrible on wet roads and ice.

I went to 4 runner rims and my Tacoma had acorn type lugs and my 4Runner rims are shoulder type lugs
