Wheel help

Hey guys, I have had my Tacoma for a couple of months now and want to upgrade the wheel. Can I get 17x8.5 rim and still get some beefy tires and not have any rubbing. What size tires do you guy recommend for those wheels

Can do a 275/65/17 if not lifted.
May look a little better on a 8.5 wide wheel than a 265/70/17 which is pretty common.
If lifted a 285/70/17 is about all you want. Although I'm stepping up to a 295/70/17 on the next set because 285 is almost too narrow on a 9 wide wheel... but I like cutting, banging, and welding too... lol
