Why the hell did they put a CD player in the taco

I dunno it seems to go against everything the 3rd gen is supposed to be which is new tech. A CD player screams obsolete and backwards. Even Walmart stopped selling CDs so it just cheapens the feel. Truly surprised that the engineers dropped the ball and screwed the pooch so bad on this one. Smh
 
They use the CD to update some of the navigation systems in the older ones. The third gen has the mico SD card for it now. I’m sure they put a CD player in because if they didn’t more people would have complained about it not being there.
You’re the first person I’ve heard complain about it being there.
I listen to CD’s but I also have a lot of them because they didn’t have the tech they do now when I was buying lots of music. Now I have a lot of new downloaded music but lots of my older music I didn’t download because I still have CD’s I’m sure that will change in another 5 years and all my music will be downloaded.
I feel like the technology is still transitioning.

Yeah to many genx still have all their cds so to not have it in they would have caused backlash. Most people who can afford to buy a new Tacoma are going to be in their late 20’s-40’s and most people in their 30’s and 40’s probably still have a lot of CD’s. I would have liked it if the deck had the multi disc like my Tundra where it folded down and the insert was hidden so it didnt look like there was a CD player in it.

Yeah, that woulda been nice! I can get by with what is in the Taco......I keep a few CDs in the console to play! Have music on a jump-drive too that works well thru the USB port.

Yeah I use the USB, Bluetooth and cds I like that it has all the options
 
I'm in my mid 30s got rid of my cds years ago. I still remember when Netflix mailed out DVDs and I would rip them lol. I'm surprised some of you guys actually still have yours but that's cool
 
Spent a lot of money on them and they still work. Like I said when they don’t work or I don’t have the option to play them I’ll pay for the music again and download it. No need to spend money on something I already own.

I still write letters and even send them thru the mail inside an envelope with a stamp!
