My upper control arm bushings are worn out. I can actually move the arms a slight bit by hand. If is safe to drive for a short time?

I'm not a mechanic but if you can actually feel movement I would repair immediately. As the name implies "Control Arm" if it should break you will loose control of the vehicle. Anything to do with steering and brakes I take seriously and you will have to fix it eventually anyway.
