I don't blame you BC, would have me thinking too. I have heard of issues with the 2 stroke oil and some reed valves but don't know if it was in general or specific to one engine brand/design.

The oil itself may last that long but with vvt and any number of other stuff being operated and controled by oil/oil pressure I believe clean oil is just as important as good oil.

Not doubting youre word BC but what about Amsoil caused 2 engines to blow? Was it 2 stoke oil or their 4 stroke oil? Need more info.
