2006 Tacoma tranny trouble

I'm looking in to getting my mother's 2006 Tacoma SR5 TRD, but she says it doesn't have much pull in drive but in reverse it is fine. Could it be a filter change is needed or the TPS needs to be adjusted or a shift sensor?

I agree there’s a whole list of stuff to check. I would at least check transmission fluid and see if it looks or smells burnt.

I'm guessing she took it into the dealer? They don't really do anything to the trans.
