2007 Taco TRD-Sudden wierd power steering like groaning, won’t start after shut off.

Crap- coming home from work I stopped at store about a mile from house. When I started my truck back up it was wining/groaning like I’ve heard a steering pump do, got home just fine. Shut it off and was looking online at what it could be, about 5 min after turning it off I tried to start and zero. No noise no clicks no nothing and the dash lights dimmed and we’re out in probably 20 seconds.

This is a weird combo of symptoms for me. Please tell me somebody’s had some experience with this!?
 
When I tried to jump it immediately after hooking up cables the alternator started smoking...good grief what the
