2012 Tacoma

I have a 2012 Tacoma that has the original clear fender protector. It is impossible to clean around the edges. Should I remove them and if so, how?

I' ve painted them body color before .it holds up for a while .or you can black them out.

I've got them too and im not sure what to do about it. I've got a 2015 and I see specs of orange I hope its not trapping water and rusting my body. now thats a class action if I've seen one
