It's the same truck.
The only major changes are happening to the Pro. It’s getting new fox 2.5 shocks instead of 2.0, the snorkel option, a blue color is offered and a few other tweaks.I thought I read, either here or somewhere, that they were updating the shocks because in some test that some reviewer ran they blew out the shocks? While I’m certain that is not an issue for me as I doubt I will be testing the limits of this truck, i thought it might matter during resale. But ICBW as I can’t seem to find the reference now.
I am pressing for ~$4,000 off of sticker but I’m not sure I can get quite there even with a 2018, but I’m close.
Is it the experience of this community that discounts like that only happen in the Summer and are not available for newly released trucks?

If you’re looking to buy a sport there won’t be any major change between the 2018 and 2019. The big change from 2017 to 2018 was the option of leather and the TSS-P.
Right now toyota is offering $1000 off 2018 Tacoma’s until July 31st and dealers are marking them down another $2000-3000 off MSRP. Now until the end of July is a great time to buy a 2018 Tacoma. View attachment 19622View attachment 19623
HahaThat inferno Off Road is beautiful. Only someone of great taste would drive something like that.
309 for floor mats are high. Weather techs all day on eBay for around 175.00
If you keep the miles down and hate the truck. They will give you the best trade in amount you can get. I was going to buy a 14 for 29k and 6 percent interest. I ended up buying a 17 for 35k and 0 percent interest. So you’re deal sounds good to me.
This is a car for my 27 yr old son and I’m just teaching him how to negotiate with dealers. I agree the downside risk at this price is minimal..... all of the cars I’ve bought new lost 20% or more as soon as I drove them off of the lot. Thats why I prefer late model used but sometimes a new car is, indeed, the smarter play.
