2018 trd sport drivetrain is issue

Once I hit 3500 miles the shifting seemed to settle in. I know it’s frustrating but mash it around and one day it will drives like it is suppose to.

Agree, don’t know what normal actually is but it sure beats the first couple weeks I had it

I thought I was making the right decision switching from Chevy bc of the trans issues they are having but now not so much at least the Chevy made up for it with the power. Now I’m having the trans issue along with the power loss which I’m ok with the power loss I knew the Atkinson motor wasn’t built for crazy power but when you mix a trans issue with a motor not built for power you have something that you are miserable with and for the price of the trucks you would think they would try to figure out the issue right now I feel like I’m driving a 35000.00 sardine can.

Trade it off if you hate it.

Well, you see first thing I had to come to terms with is when the 4 speed O/D matched with the 4.0 went away , whatever issues it had , whether auto or manual seems to be minor as opposed to the 3rd gen with smaller displacement

And mix in the Atkinson BS and the outcome is quite predictable really

I checked out another yesterday it’s a 17 trd off-road drive it around and it had none of the issues this one does trying to work something with dealership now but I’m concerned if I get that one then who to say the same things are going on with it from what I have read from a lot of other peoples post not all of them do it. The wheels and tires could be throwing me off on this one also.IMG_0250.jpg

Yeah I know, but the some do and some don't is such bullshit on Toyota's side, hate to say but Toyota was a far better vehicle when it was an import

No just take it to toyota to get it fix. It’s the safest thing to do. I done to a lot of Tacoma’s already(I work at toyota).

Get a Shift Sense Pro, and grease the drive shaft splines. The splines are where the driveshaft enters the transmission or transfer case. This should stop the axle wrap bump. Mine is a 4wd lb and I don’t have the problem, but I did on my Tundra and greasing stopped the bump.

Don't really understand your reply, but yeah if the stealership will stand behind the fixes /recalls etc AND done properly go with that
