2024 Toyota Tacoma to be revealed May 19th, 2023 !

when are you getting that new rig?
Well Toyota.com is saying the release date will be September/October for the good stuff, and the not so god stuff, i.e., the hybrid models with 27,000 extra batteries that easily catch fire and will placed directly under the rear passenger seat won't be available until February 2024.

Their hybrids are bulletproof imo. We've had a prius since 2012, and absolutely 0 issues in over 112k miles since we've had it. My brother owns a hybrid 2020 rave4, its been in the shop only once for some bs recall toyota issued, otherwise its been perfect.

I sure hope you are right ole man. It's just I can pick up a newspaper or find an article on line every single day that addresses these hybrid or EV vehicles catching on fire every single day and that scares the crap out of me. Maybe fives years down the line my opinion will change about these suckers.

Toyota hybrids are proven. With other manufactures it's a crap shoot....especially with gm.
I'd be more worried having an issue first with the internal combustion side of these new tacoma's.

So this is the 4th gen, 2024 Toyota Tacoma in Cavalry Blue, from the movie Blue Beetle, released August 18th. It really does look like a mini Tundra.

It appears more like a ford explorer truck imo. I'm just not digging it.
Maybe joel but Im still calling it the mini-me tundra. I hate it but I like it. I hate it because Toyota has been slowly clouding our view of the icky looking Tundra and keeps trying to make it as popular as the Tacoma so they are mixing the two….

I like it because of all the freaking angles. Bad a$$. And a turbo charger 4-banger ! And the icing on the cake for me is they are making one more (and the last one) generation with a MANUEL TRANSMISSION ! I know you have made your opinion about AT vs MT loud and clear and you favor the AT. Well, I still LOVE teh manuel and want one more at age 56 !

I've got no problem with the tundra looks. It's just gotten too massive. You'll never see a manual in a new tundra. I just don't think a clutch would stand up as well as an auto when heavy towing.

So after surfing the internet these past few months trying to get as much information as I can about the 4th gen Taco, I've noticed a couple of things. From across the globe, people are referring to the next generation of the Tacoma as 4th gen, 4th Gen, gen4, and Gen4. But the biggest verbage I'm seeing is the term "4g".

Yes, just like the cell phone companies and their 2g, 3g, 4g, and now 5g (a mobile communications standard intended to replace 3G, allowing wireless internet access at a much higher speed). So, to keep up with the Milenials and the genZ generations, I will officially refer to the 4th generation Tacoma as 4g.
