22r replacement carburetor

Well you answered my question kinda I was trying to ask if their was a way to leave the air filter and intake that came with the truck on because every 22r I see with the Weber 32/36 uses a k&n style air filter on it that is supplied with the carburetor kit. I was wondering if I would need another kit to get the air box to bolt onto the new carburetor.

I don’t know but I’d leave the stock one if you can mak it work.

Im still not positive im going to get this one but i am definitely looking into it. If I do and have to make a plate would anyone like the measurements and/or should I maybe make a YouTube channel about working on things. No I wouldnt be doing engine swaps or anything super crazy at least I dont think i will. If I did I might would do it on the stuff that we do to the sequoia the scion the truck and the avalon. I could also do it on things like the Honda atcs and other stuff like that. What do you guys think about doing it?

The more info out on the inter web the better. I say go for it.

Sorry man, wasn’t ignoring you intentionally, apparently phones don’t do well setting on the sides of hot tubs while it’s snowing,... and I wasn’t concerned with replacing it while on a ski vacation! Haha! Hope you figured out what you needed to.

Hey crawdad or anyone else looking at this forum I have a few questions arrive while looking at the Weber 32/36. First of all how much does it need to be tuned? Do you notice a gain in power and/or fuel economy? And what else would I need to do this swap any extra equipment like fuel pressure regulators or anything else? This is not going to be a race truck but if I am having to do maintenance you mine as well upgrade at least that's my way of looking at it.

You are fine. Well I know what I want to do all that's left is to convince the financial advisor. Lce performance sales a kit with the 32/36 Weber and a choice between intakes. Would those intakes make a difference and what would be the difference between a single plane and duel plane intake. They also sale a swirl adapter or spacer and claim 5hp and 6ftlb of torque. Is that going to be around all the curve or does it just shift the power to another different place? Thanks for all the help!

Changing the intake manifold is up to you, the adapter plates work fine but a dual plane would be my personal preference. Single plane intake manifolds are better suited at higher RPM’s. Probably not what you need. I’ve never been a believer of the swirl adapters,... but that’s another one that’s up to you. If it tickles your fancy and you have the coin then go for it.

Ok well since the 22r head has some flow issues and I cant do the 20r swap because it is 88 model and the 20r head is only a direct bolt on to a pre85 I should definitely go with a duel plane and with the new intake it should bolt up to a 32/36 I shouldnt have to need any kind of adapter. I will be looking into that.

Not sure if any ones still here but I couldnt convince the financial advisor to a new carb and intake but its running. Looks like the magic number to a carb rebuild is 2 times. Video.MOV

Well i haven't taken anything off of it besides when I replaced the gas tank on it. This truck has been in the family since it came off the lot. Im going to get off topic a little. Would you recommend me to take off the emissions equipment? Is that illegal? The time my grandad tried it on another truck it wouldnt even start or run so im not sure if its for me. Anyway thanks for the advice. Now back to finding carburetors

Where did you find a new gas tank? I have to replace one in a '83 SR5 4X4 that has been sitting in a garage since 1991.
